Looking back, we must reflect on our humble beginnings which began in 1940. What started as a sewing circle with eight members with a goal to meet and become acquainted with their neighbors, to know the community better and to foster a spirit of friendliness, neighborliness and helpfulness has grown to our present-day Sylmar Woman’s Club. Each one of the women present at that first meeting pledged to bring at least one new member to the next meeting and the membership was tripled the first year.  The symbol then, as now, was a true circle, no breaks, no points and no corners.

In May of 1984 the Sylmar Woman’s Club became a non-profit organization 501(c3)
